May 24, 2014: A group of prisoners attacked multiple guards as they were being transferred between pods. Three guards were hospitalized as a result of the attack. Prison authorities believe the attack was pre-planned.
May 7, 2014: At approximately 4 a.m. six or seven juveniles broke out of their cells and escaped into the facility's outdoor courtyard where they ran around until staff convinced them to return to their cells.
April 23, 2014: Three inmates took a guard hostage and phoned the media in a standoff that lasted five hours.
April 22, 2014: Approximately five prisoners attacked two prison guards at around 8 in the evening, which ended with both guards and one of the prisoners requiring medical treatment.
April 18-20, 2014: Following the January action, FAM spokespeople attempt to announce statewide strike through media outreach. Pre-emptive transfers and isolation of strike leaders stunts participation.
April 2, 2014: One Correctional Officer was standing near a doorway when he was attacked by multiple inmates. The inmates reportedly had two homemade weapons which were used to stab the officer multiple times. Another officer was stabbed while trying to respond to the incident.
March 19, 2014: Following a disturbance earlier in the day, youths took control of Bravo 2 module and caused significant damage to prison infrastructure. The youths “displayed defiant and unruly behavior” toward detention officers, refusing to comply with orders. Photos of
