Uprising at Jefferson County Jail, Arkansas

July 30, 2015: Approximately 80 prisoners wore masks over their faces and covered surveillance cameras while they destroyed their housing unit, causing thousands of dollars in damage. The uprising occurred in response to the jail tightening security and taking away some privileges.

Uprising at Bibb Correctional Facility, Alabama

July 30, 2015: Sixteen inmates barricaded their dorm on Thursday, blocking officers from entering. After taking control of the dorm the inmates disconnected the electricity causing a minor fire and caused a significant amount of property damage. No one was injured in the uprising and the prison resumed normal function on Friday.

Uprising at Arizona State Prison at Kingman, Arizona

July 1 – July 4, 2015: Prisoners at the Arizona State Prison in Kingman, a private prison run by the Management & Training Corporation (MTC), riot for three days following an attack on guards. Following the riots, the governor of Arizona announces that the state would be ending its contract with the Management and Training Corporation.
