April 22, 2020: Prisoners at the Central Detention Facility in Washington, D.C. engaged in shouting and refusing to remove their hands from their cells food slots in protest of conditions imposed due to COVID19 lockdown. Pepper spray was deployed by guards on two prisoners.
April 20, 2020: Juveniles held at the Bridge City Center for Youth engaged in a disturbance that included 4 dormitory units. Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Deputies responded with a SWAT team to a call at approximately 8:30 p.m. to reports of prisoners fighting with each other
April 19, 2020: Multiple prisoners confined at Sumter Correctional Institution in Bushnell, Florida, attacked a guard. On the day of the attack, the cases of COVID-19 at Sumter Correctional had risen from seven to 24.
