January 15, 2018: Prisoners across the Florida prison system organized a work stoppage beginning on Martin Luther King Jr. day. The strikers issued demands and engaged in boycotts of commissary.
June 21, 2017: Prisoners take over several dorms for around half an hour, injuring seven guards in a "major disturbance." According to the prison, the incident involves more than twenty prisoners and is a result of "tension among gangs." One prisoner is reported injured.

September 7-12, 2016: Kicking the September 9 strike off early, 400 prisoners at Holmes Correctional rebel, damaging nearly every dorm in the facility. Several hundred more prisoners participate in disruptions and work stoppages in other facilities across northern Florida.
June 10th, 2016: Over 300 hundred prisoners participated in an uprising that began late at night on June 10th. According to prison officials, prisoners jumped a guard and took over two housing dorms before proceeding to destroy nearly everything in the dorms.
April 4, 2016: A corrections officer at the Columbia Correctional Institution was stabbed and several others injured in an ambush by prisoners.
