Uprising at California Rehabilitation Center

Uprising at California Rehabilitation Center

California Rehabilitation Center, Norco, California
October 2, 2018

Prisoners led a brief uprising in protest of a new policy that integrated yard time for prisoners in segregation and those in general population. Prisoners set fire to a mattress and started another fire in a bathroom. The uprising was quickly subdued by prison staff.

Two days later, family members of prisoners at Norco held a rally outside the prison protesting the new policy.

The Department of Corrections released a statement explaining the intentions of the new policy.
