Prisoners take control of a 180-person dorm during a 5 hour uprising, holding a guard hostage and assaulting him. While staff attempts to regain control of the unit, a total of three guards are stabbed.
A source claiming to be an inmate inside the prison told 7News the hostage situation happened because the inmates are on lockdown nearly 24-7, and they get little to no recreation time.
