Four prisoners at the Riot Arriba County Jail are facing charges following a fight with guards on November 9, 2019. The charges are two counts of battery on a peace officer and one count of conspiracy to commit battery on a police officer.
According to a criminal complaint and public records obtained by the Albuquerque Journal, one of the prisoners initiated the confrontation after guards turned away his girlfriend who had come for visitation. Other prisoners and guards joined in the fight.
