Souza-Baranowski Correctional Center, Shirley, Massachusetts

At least 6 prisoners participated in an attack on prison guards. The attack began between one prisoner and two guards and other prisoners and guards joined the fight as it progressed. One prisoner was shown on surveillance camera footage hitting a guard with a chair. Five guards were sent to the hospital for treatment but no injuries were considered serious. The motivation for the attack is unknown.
In the aftermath of the attack, six prisoners were charged with assault. Those facing charges were: Kevin Semiglia, Buthchhay Chourb, Jacquan McKenzie, Tiberias Albert, Javante A. Antone, and Jamaul W. Vital. They faced anywhere from one to five counts of assault and battery on a correction officer. Chourb also faced two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
