Escape at Troup County Jail, Georgia

Two inmates escaped from Troup County Jail after climbing down a drainpipe. The inmates managed to get on the roof of the prison through a hole in the ceiling and shimmy down the pipe to the road below. Prison officials stated that they believed that the two men may have had a vehicle waiting for them nearby. It took prison officials eight hours before they realized the two were gone.

Both inmates were re-captured within a week.
