At least 48 prisoners in the administrative segregation unit stage a hunger strike which, according to prison officials, relates to demands regarding recreation time, food portions and the temperature of the prison. Also according to prison officials, the strike lasts 10 days.
Information about the strike spreads after the wife of a striking prisoner calls the local media, which seeks comment from the prison.
