Allen Oakwood Correctional Institution, Lima, Ohio
September 11, 2014
Three prisoners escaped from the Allen Oakwood Correctional Institution using a 13 foot ladder that they had constructed out of old cabinets. The prisoners carried the ladder through an unoccupied section of the prison and used it to climb onto the roof before jumping down and running through a field. All three were recaptured shortly after.
One of the prisoners was T.J. Lane, a prisoner serving a life sentence for killing three high school students during a school shooting incident at Chardon High School in Ohio.
