Otero County Jail, La Junta, Colorado

Four inmates escaped from Otero County Jail after overpowering guards. The inmates reportedly overpowered one Correctional Officer and a Sheriff before escaping to a rail yard where only their prison clothes were found. The Colorado National Guard and local law enforcement responded by conducting a manhunt across southeastern Colorado.
Three of the four inmates were recaptured the following day with the fourth being recaptured a day later.
