Miami Correctional Facility, Deer Creek Township, Indiana

Multiple prisoners started fires in their cells at Miami Correctional Facility according to prison officials. The prisoners allegedly used paper and toilet paper in conjunction with electrical outlets to light the fires.
The prison administration shut off power to part of the facility for 20 hours after the event, allegedly to thwart further attempts to light fires. They also put the prisoners on lock-down for that period.
A prison administrator, speaking to a local news agency, claimed the prisoners in the area who started fires “have a history of ‘inappropriate behavior.’”
