Two juvenile detainees tied bed sheets together and used them to climb out of a second story window after being let out of their cells to use the bathroom. The juveniles were missing for several hours before guards noticed their absence.
The two were arrested later that morning following a brief car chase that ended in the escaped teens crashing their car and fleeing on foot before being captured.
The escape followed less than a week after an uprising at the facility left four inmates and ten staff members injured.
According to Colorado Public Radio, there have been five other escapes from the facility in the last year.
